Elon Musk revealed on Monday that his highly anticipated interview with former President Donald Trump was disrupted by a significant cyber attack targeting his social media platform, X, previously known as Twitter. “There appears to be a massive DDOS attack on X. Working on shutting it down,” Musk announced on the platform.
Musk, who has previously identified as a Democrat voter, has increasingly aligned himself with Trump, especially after an assassination attempt was made on the former president during a rally last month.
This shift in support marks a significant development, as Musk had reinstated Trump’s account on X after it was previously banned following the January 2021 attack on the US Capitol by Trump supporters.
