Leicester City has successfully signed Caleb Okoli from Atalanta on a five-year contract. The 22-year-old central defender, who has represented Italy at the under-21 level, is ready to embark on a new journey in the Premier League.

Okoli, who progressed through Atalanta’s academy, made 17 first-team appearances for the club. Last season, he gained valuable experience on loan at Frosinone, playing in 34 Serie A matches, although the club unfortunately faced relegation from Italy’s top flight.

Expressing his enthusiasm about the move, Okoli shared with the club’s media, “I think it was the right moment to take a significant step forward. I’m thrilled with my decision and eager to begin my Premier League journey.

Leicester is a prestigious club with a rich history, and the combination of the club’s ambition and the Premier League’s reputation as the best league in the world made this an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”

In addition to Okoli, Leicester City has also strengthened their squad with the acquisitions of midfielder Michael Golding from Chelsea and forward Bobby Decordova-Reid from Fulham this summer. However, the club saw Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall depart for Chelsea in a £30 million deal last week.

The Foxes are clearly focused on bolstering their lineup as they prepare for the upcoming season, aiming to make a significant impact in the Premier League.
