Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reaffirmed his commitment to eliminating Hamas and securing the release of all Israeli hostages held by the group. His statement came after a fifth hostage-prisoner exchange took place on Saturday as part of a ceasefire deal in Gaza.
In a video statement, Netanyahu declared, “We will eliminate Hamas, and we will return our hostages,” underscoring Israel’s resolve to dismantle the group.

He denounced Hamas as “monsters”, expressing outrage over the treatment of captives. The most recent exchange saw the release of three Israeli hostages, who appeared emaciated and were forced to speak publicly before their handover.
The exchange was part of an ongoing ceasefire agreement, which has facilitated the release of hostages on both sides. However, tensions remain high, with Netanyahu signaling that Israel’s military operations will continue until Hamas is completely dismantled.
