Tottenham Hotspur have taken a decisive step to address their goalkeeping crisis with the signing of Czech Republic U21 international Antonín Kinský from Slavia Prague in a deal worth £12.5 million. The highly rated 21-year-old has committed to the club until 2031, offering a much-needed boost to Spurs’ goalkeeping options amid a spate of injuries and absences.
The London club has been grappling with challenges in goal, with first-choice keeper Guglielmo Vicario sidelined by an ankle injury and Fraser Forster unavailable due to illness during the recent 2-1 defeat to Newcastle.
This left Brandon Austin, a 25-year-old without senior competitive experience, to make his debut in one of the most high-pressure positions on the field.
In a statement on their official website, Tottenham expressed their excitement about securing Kinský’s signature, subject to international clearance and a work permit. “We are delighted to announce the signing of Antonín Kinský from SK Slavia Prague. The 21-year-old goalkeeper has agreed to a deal that will run until 2031 and will wear the number 31 shirt.”

Born and raised in Prague, Kinský’s footballing journey began with local clubs including FC Tempo Prague, Bohemians Prague 1905, and FK Dukla Prague. He made his senior debut with Dukla in July 2020 before joining Slavia Prague in 2021. Initially part of Slavia’s B team, he showcased his talent by making nine appearances in his debut season.
Kinský’s arrival comes at a crucial time for Spurs as they look to stabilize their squad and maintain momentum in the Premier League. The young shot-stopper brings not only skill and potential but also a hunger to make his mark at one of Europe’s top clubs.
