Tether, the leading issuer of the USDT stablecoin, has taken its first bold step into the world of venture capital. The company recently announced a $2 million investment in Arcanum Capital’s Arcanum Emerging Technologies Fund II, marking a new chapter in Tether’s efforts to drive blockchain innovation and Web3 development.
This fund, part of DigitalArray, is dedicated to advancing decentralized technologies; Arcanum Capital accelerating projects that combine blockchain with artificial intelligence (AI), expand the Bitcoin ecosystem, and create innovative crypto payment solutions.
Tether’s investment represents a strategic move into the venture capital space, aligning with its broader mission to advance blockchain technology.
Arcanum fund will also focus on optimizing the use of USDT for payments and supporting initiatives that leverage Holepunch, a peer-to-peer app development platform backed by Bitfinex, Tether, and Hypercore.
This groundbreaking collaboration underscores Tether’s commitment to fostering resilient, decentralized technologies. According to Paolo Ardoino, Tether’s CEO, the partnership reflects the company’s vision of empowering individuals during times of geopolitical and economic uncertainty.

Arcanum Capital plans to utilize this investment to push the boundaries of Web3 technology. By combining blockchain and AI, improving crypto payments, and strengthening the Bitcoin ecosystem, the fund seeks to address real-world challenges with innovative solutions.
This investment in Arcanum Capital comes as Tether’s CEO revealed the company’s growing interest in diverse areas such as Bitcoin mining, traditional finance (TradFi), and commodity trade. While this marks Tether’s first direct foray into venture capital, it could signal the beginning of a broader strategy to support blockchain-driven innovation.
Tether’s move into venture capital aligns with the evolving needs of the blockchain industry, where funding and collaboration play a critical role in scaling groundbreaking technologies.
