Former Minister Uju-Ken Ohanenye Pledges Continued Support for Tinubu’s Vision for Nigeria
Following her recent dismissal from the role of Minister of Women Affairs, Uju-Ken Ohanenye has expressed her unwavering commitment to President Bola Tinubu’s vision for Nigeria.
Despite her removal, Ohanenye stated that she remains dedicated to the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and pledged to work “alongside” Tinubu to address Nigeria’s challenges. Her message, posted on her official X (formerly Twitter) account, underscored her optimism for the country’s future and called on Nigerians to keep faith in the path toward a brighter tomorrow.
“This is a test of time, a highly spiritual movement that no human being can stop. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is destined to fix Nigeria, and I, Barr Uju Kennedy, will fight alongside him to the last,” she wrote, urging Nigerians to stay optimistic.
In an official statement released earlier, Ohanenye expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve in his cabinet, describing it as an honor to have contributed to Nigeria’s progress.
“I write to express my sincere gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the extraordinary opportunity to serve as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” she shared. “It has been an honor and a privilege to contribute to the development of our nation.”

Ohanenye’s words come shortly after the announcement on October 24, when she, alongside four other ministers, was relieved of her duties. The affected ministers included Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism; Prof. Tahir Mamman, Minister of Education; Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development; and Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development. The decision was made public through a statement issued by Dada Olusegun, President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Social Media.
As part of a broader restructuring aimed at enhancing government effectiveness, the President reassigned 10 ministers to new portfolios and nominated seven others for Senate confirmation.
Among the new appointments, Shehu Dikko was named Chairman of the National Sports Commission, while Sunday Akin Dare was appointed Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation within the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
Additionally, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu was appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and Jumoke Oduwole was named Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment.
These changes, according to government officials, reflect President Tinubu’s commitment to strategically positioning his team to drive the Renewed Hope Agenda—a vision focused on economic reform, improved governance, and creating a more prosperous Nigeria.
