After a standout debut season at AS Roma, Tammy Abraham experienced a dip in form, only to be sidelined for much of the last campaign due to an ACL injury. Now, at 26, the striker is determined to make a strong comeback, dismissing any speculation of a summer departure from the Italian club.

Speaking to reporters, Abraham expressed his commitment to Roma and his readiness to prove himself once again.

“Since my first day in Rome, I’ve been eager to show my passion for football and my dedication to helping the club succeed. I’m a positive person who always tries to keep a smile on my face.”

This is my first full preseason after the injury, and I’m focused on making this my season. The transfer rumors are flattering because they suggest you’re doing well, but I’m fully committed to Roma and ready to give my best.”

Abraham was highly sought after just two seasons ago, following an impressive campaign where he netted 27 goals across all competitions.

However, the long injury layoff has led to something of a reset in his career. Staying at Roma, where he can secure regular playing time, may be the key to reigniting his goal-scoring prowess and driving the team to success this season.

As Roma prepares to return to Serie A action next Sunday evening against Cagliari, the club will be hoping that Abraham can recapture the form that made him one of Europe’s most promising strikers during the 2021/22 season.

Last season, Roma finished sixth in the league, but with a rejuvenated Abraham leading the line, they could once again become a formidable force in the Italian top flight.
