According to the Tottenham Hotspur official website, the club has secured the signing of an 18-year-old South Korean talent, who has committed to a contract with the Premier League team until the summer of 2030.
However, this promising young player, who is part of the South Korea Under-17 national team, will not be joining the north London squad until January 2025.
Yang, who is highly regarded in his home country, has been showcasing his skills impressively this season. He has netted eight goals and provided four assists in 25 appearances for Gangwon’s first team.
For the remainder of the campaign, he will continue to play for the K-League side, which is currently in second place in the league standings.

Once his stint with Gangwon concludes, Yang will then join Tottenham Hotspur, where he will have the opportunity to work alongside his compatriot, the renowned Son Heung-min.
Yang’s international experience includes representing South Korea at the AFC U17 Asian Cup and the U17 World Cup in 2023. In March, he made headlines by becoming the youngest scorer in the K-League since 2013 when he scored his first goal for Gangwon.
Gangwon FC’s next match is against Gimcheon Sangmu on August 9, in what promises to be a thrilling clash between the league’s top two teams. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur is continuing its pre-season preparations in South Korea, where they are set to face a K-League XI in a friendly match on Wednesday.
