NiMet Forecasts Three Days of Thunderstorms and Rain Starting Monday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a forecast predicting a series of thundery and rainy weather conditions across the country from Monday to Wednesday.

According to the weather outlook released on Sunday in Abuja, NiMet anticipates morning thunderstorms on Monday over parts of Kebbi, Katsina, Borno, Bauchi, and Taraba States.

Later in the day, thunderstorms are expected to continue in areas such as Zamfara, Taraba, Bauchi, and Kebbi states. Additionally, moderate rains are forecasted for parts of Nassarawa, Benue, the Federal Capital Territory, and Niger during the morning.

Moving into Tuesday, NiMet predicts morning thunderstorms over parts of Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara. The afternoon and evening hours are expected to bring thunderstorms to Bauchi, Taraba, Zamfara, and Kebbi, with moderate rains anticipated over parts of Niger and Kwara States in the morning.

By Wednesday, the agency forecasts morning thunderstorms over parts of Sokoto, Borno, Katsina, and Kebbi. Later in the day, thunderstorms are expected in Taraba, Kano, Kaduna, and Zamfara, while the North Central region is likely to experience cloudy conditions during the morning hours.

As the day progresses, thunderstorms are predicted to extend across the entire region, with cloudy skies expected to prevail over the southern regions during the morning periods.

NiMet has urged the public, including airline operators, to stay informed by regularly checking updated weather reports and forecasts from the agency for effective planning and safety in their operations.
