The London club, Chelsea, is reportedly nearing an agreement with a Spanish side, according to a well-known journalist.
This follows an initial offer of €20 million (£17 million/$22 million) that was rejected by Villarreal, commonly known as the Yellow Submarine. Currently, the two clubs are in advanced negotiations to finalize the deal’s structure.
Chelsea and the 22-year-old goalkeeper Jorgensen have already reached a contract agreement, overcoming competition from Marseille to secure his move to Stamford Bridge. Earlier this year, Jorgensen was also linked with other Premier League giants such as Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City.
Jorgensen, a product of the Villarreal youth academy, emerged as the team’s first-choice goalkeeper last season, contributing significantly to their eighth-place finish in La Liga in the 2023-24 season.

Despite signing a new contract with Villarreal just last month, which would have kept him at the club until 2029, Jorgensen now appears poised to depart in the coming days.
Chelsea has been actively searching for a new goalkeeper to provide competition for their current number one, Robert Sanchez.
Alongside Jorgensen, they had shown interest in Real Madrid’s Andriy Lunin. Lunin had a standout season in Spain, stepping up as the main goalkeeper after Thibaut Courtois was sidelined for much of the campaign due to injury.
The potential acquisition of Jorgensen reflects Chelsea’s strategic approach to bolstering their squad depth and enhancing their options between the posts as they prepare for the upcoming season.
