The G7 group of developed nations released a statement on Monday affirming their support for a Gaza peace plan endorsed by US President Joe Biden. This statement urges Hamas to accept the proposed deal, saying:
“We, the Leaders of the Group of Seven (G7), fully endorse the truce plan that would lead to an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all hostages, a significant and sustained increase in humanitarian assistance for distribution throughout Gaza, and an enduring end to the crisis, with Israel’s security interests and Gazan civilian safety assured”.
We call on Hamas to accept this deal, that Israel is ready to move forward with, and we urge countries with influence over Hamas to help ensure that it does so”.

Biden’s three-phase proposal, presented on Friday as an Israeli initiative, aims to bring an end to the ongoing conflict, secure the release of all hostages, and initiate the reconstruction of Palestinian territories without Hamas maintaining power.
The plan’s first phase calls for a complete six-week ceasefire, during which Israeli forces would withdraw from all populated areas of Gaza.
The G7, consisting of the United States, Canada, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, stands united in backing this peace initiative. They emphasize the importance of moving forward with the plan to ensure stability and peace in the region.
