Kylian Mbappe has officially signed a contract to join Real Madrid on a free transfer once his Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) deal expires on June 30.

The French striker had verbally committed to the move to the Bernabeu in February and confirmed in May that he would be leaving PSG at the end of the season.

Now, at 25, Mbappe has finalized terms with Real Madrid and will relocate to Spain when the La Liga transfer window opens on July 1.

Real Madrid is expected to announce the deal next week, with plans to formally present the forward at the Bernabeu following Euro 2024, BBC Reports.

Mbappe, who was a key figure in France’s World Cup-winning squad in 2018, leaves PSG as the club’s all-time top scorer, having netted 256 goals since his arrival from Monaco on an initial loan deal in 2017.

His agreement with Real Madrid runs until 2029, with a lucrative annual salary of 15 million euros (£12.8 million) and a substantial signing bonus of 150 million euros (£128 million) to be paid over five years. Additionally, he will retain a percentage of his image rights.

The move will also see Mbappe play alongside Luka Modric, as the Croatian midfielder is set to sign a one-year contract extension with Real Madrid.

The club’s acquisition of Mbappe adds to their already impressive lineup and further solidifies their standing as a powerhouse in European football.

To celebrate their record-extending success, Real Madrid will hold a trophy parade through the streets of the Spanish capital on Sunday night, marking yet another historic moment for the illustrious club.

This transfer not only signifies a major career milestone for Mbappe but also underscores Real Madrid’s continued ambition to assemble a squad capable of maintaining their dominance in both domestic and international competitions. The addition of Mbappe is expected to bring a new dynamic to the team, promising exciting times ahead for the fans and the club alike.
