WhatsApp is preparing to launch an exciting new update for both iOS and Android users, promising to enhance the app’s status feature significantly.
According to WA Beta, the Meta-owned messaging platform is increasing the maximum duration for voice notes in status updates from 30 seconds to one minute.

Utilizing the new feature is simple: users can record a voice note by holding down the microphone button, just as they do when sending a voice note in a chat. If they wish to cancel the recording, they can easily slide to cancel.

Currently, this feature is available to some users who have the latest version of WhatsApp. Android users can update their app through the Google Play Store, while iOS users can find the update in the App Store. The feature will be gradually rolled out to more users in the coming days.
In addition to longer voice notes for status updates, WhatsApp is also working on several other exciting features. Among these are Enhanced Privacy Settings, which will give users more control over who can view their status updates, and Extended Video Duration, allowing users to share video clips of up to one minute, up from the previous 30-second limit.
