Senator Rufai Sani Hanga, representing the Kano Central Senatorial District in the House of Assembly has explained the motivations behind his Benevolent Contribution to Constituents’ Burial Ceremonies.
Senator Hanga has shed light on the driving force behind his altruistic gesture, attributing it to a profound quest for divine mercy, donating a considerable quantity of 2,000 clay pots alongside 10,500 yards of the traditional white fabric known as ‘Likkadani’ in the local Hausa dialect, was specifically directed towards the Muslim graveyards situated within his constituency.
As the Deputy Minority Chief Whip of the 10th Senate and a respected member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Senator Hanga encountered a wave of public scrutiny subsequent to reports surrounding his benevolent endeavor.

“This is a constituency project of Sen. Rufa’i Sani Hanga, Senator representing Kano Central. Instead of building hospitals, he distributed 5,000 pots and white cloths for the burial of the people of his senatorial District.”
Addressing the recent development, Senator Rufai Hanga steadfastly reiterated that the benevolent donation in question did not fall under the purview of his constituency project, contrary to widespread speculation.
During his inaugural press briefing since assuming office in the auspicious year of 2023, Senator Hanga articulated that such acts of generosity were not novel occurrences in his personal repertoire.
He, therefore explained that this philanthropic gesture was deeply ingrained in his familial heritage, a legacy he had been exposed to and subsequently inherited from preceding generations.

“We made the donation to Kano state committee for the graveyards headed by Dangoribar Kano and district head of Tarauni Local government. We had found out that clay pots were lacking in most of our graveyards and decided to donate.”
